TRX - part 1

So today, ms. Ti and I headed over to her gym to try exercising while supported by straps hanging from the ceiling! Yes, it's true, there are straps hanging from the ceiling, and a whole genre of exercise can be done using these. It was quite interesting actually, and I imagine a whole lot more can be done with it in addition to what we did today. But one has to start somewhere and many students in the class were new to it (as was I). The cool thing about TRX from my perspective is that you use your own body weight as the source of resistance for each exercise. How you position yourself determines how difficult the exercise will be. The other cool thing is that the straps, since they hang freely, only provide so much in terms of stabilization - your core has to do the rest. Super fun, super cool and very compact - you could install an appropriate ceiling anchor, buy some TRX straps and go to town! You can even take the straps down and hang a plant from the anchor during your "down time." - I'm going to learn more about TRX and post a part-2 with additional information...stay tuned - or do some web browsing yourself and let me know what you find! :)
